The International Committee for Museum Security would like to offer Hans-Jürgen Harras our heartfelt congratulations on his imminent retirement.

Hans-Jürgen Harras has made an enormous contribution to the committee and has made the ICMS the success that it is today. he has been a great support to the international ICMS network and generously supported our members by sharing his wealth of experience in museum security.

Since 2004 he has been an integral part of the ICMS board. he has been a regular board member, secretary, and chairperson for many years. He has seen and embraced a great deal of change, whilst remaining throughout, committed to the core principles of the ICMS.

The committee would especially like to mention a few of his notable achievements: his leadership of a project to deliver a security vocabulary which has now been translated into many languages, his active participation in security workshops, his efficient organization of ICMS elections and his ground-breaking development of our website.

You have help to make so many museums around the world a little safer and more secure, helping us all to protect our collections for future generations.
